Deep cherry red, rich as a glass of something good on a winter evening, with loose loops of blush pink swirling over the whole length like ribbons caught in the wind. The contrast is soft rather than stark, so it feels romantic and a little bit playful at the same time. Flip it over for a curly, cosy dusty-rose reverse, finished with a fine raspberry stitched edge.

Every loop is drawn by hand in wool. With Nuno felting, fine merino fibres are laid out one colour at a time, then worked with water, soap and patience until they bond into a single light, supple cloth. Handcrafted in Italy in 100% merino wool, which means these swirls exist on this scarf and nowhere else.

Red is never a neutral, but this one behaves beautifully with neutrals. Wear it with a black coat and red lipstick, a grey knit and jeans, or a camel coat for that effortless Milanese look. Perfect for festive season, Valentine's dinners and every grey Tuesday in between.

Every one of these scarves is individually felted by hand. Variations in colour, texture and the flow of the felted lines are not imperfections but part of the beauty of the process. This scarf is the only one of its kind, which is rather the point. You're wearing the original, not a copy.

Care Note

Merino felted without chemical treatments likes to form little "pills" where it rubs. Think of them as a certificate of quality: they're proof of pure, untreated wool, and they lift off easily with a fabric shaver or lint remover. Dry cleaning is best. If you prefer, hand wash with a brief soak in cold water and a wool and silk detergent, press out the water gently (no wringing) and dry flat. Iron only if you really must, inside out and with extreme care.

Your garment is handcrafted using the signature Nuno Felt Couture textile and made exclusively from natural fibres, including ethically sourced, mulesing-free Merino wool.

The unique texture and occasional natural pilling are natural characteristics of handcrafted wool and reflect the exceptional quality of the fibres and the absence of chemical treatments.

To preserve the beauty of your garment, professional dry cleaning is recommended.

If you choose to hand wash your garment:

  • Wash gently in cold water using a detergent suitable for wool and silk.
  • Do not wring or twist the fabric. Instead, gently press out excess water or roll the garment in a clean towel.
  • For stubborn marks, use a specialist stain remover designed for delicate fabrics.
  • Iron on a low setting from the reverse side if required.
  • Natural pilling can easily be removed with a fabric shaver or lint remover.

With the right care, your garment will retain its beauty, texture and character for many years to come.
